This is the fourth Startup Weekend Cebu to be organized following its initial success in May 2012. First started in the U.S., Startup Weekend has become a global movement that seeks to empower young entrepreneurs to nurture innovative ideas to become sustainable businesses.
The tech event, which will be held in the University of Cebu-Banilad Campus, opens Friday night with an open mic to encourage participants to pitch their ideas and enjoin others to join their team. The said panel will be composed of Caresharing Co-Founder Mark Buenconsejo, Symph Founder Dave Overton, engageSPARK Founder Ravi Agarwal, Synacy CEO Rhett Jones, Cebu Chamber Commerce and Industry President Ma. Teresa B. Chan, and NCR Cebu Development Center Managing Director Jaideep Agrawal.
The SWC4 teams will be coached by a host of successful tech entrepreneurs including RLCOMM INTERNATIONAL Founder Ruben Licera Jr., Third Team Media Founder Fleire Castro, Arcanys Senior Designer Kenneth Ruelan, 3AG Business solutions Inc.
